Yaaaawn

So this evening we were heading over to the Walters for dinner, and I came into the kitchen to tell Trevor to put his shoes on and this is what I found.

The funny thing was after I saw he was asleep, I looked at the computer and saw that he had it on some Nick Jr. site and they were singing songs about going to sleep. Crazy Boy. But he has inspired me, what are some of the funniest places your kids have fallen asleep?

Kitchen Chair Fetal Position
Today (I thought it was funny he got out his pillow)
"I'm Cold" he told me. "Put on some Clothes" I told him. Then I found This

Annual Morning Beach Trip

Every summer my mom (gram-me) and I take the kids to the beach for the morning. The only problem with doing it once a year is that we can never quite remember how to get there. Gram-me and I have no sense of direction (unlike aunt meli and grandpa, who weren't with us). So we were clever and programmed the GPS so we wouldn't have any problems getting there. Well that only works if you actually listen to where it is telling you to go. :) So after several detours and a ferry boat trip across Balboa we made it to the beach. It was a great trip, the kids loved riding the ferry and we even made a special trip to "Sprinkles" for some yummy cupcakes.

The kids had a blast playing in the sand, and making little castles.

Cora loved playing in the sand. She wasn't to thrilled however with how it tasted :)

Trevor and Gram-me were the only ones who actually touched the water. Trevor really thought the waves were cool.

Here is Lizzie, looking for shells. She is in her comfort zone...far away from the water. She is my quirky little girl.

Gram-me then treated the kids to some yummy food,. This is one of my favorite parts of the annual trip. We love Ruby's and having it served off the end of a pier makes it somehow even better. The kids love walking around and looking at all the fish that people have caught.

I Can See Clearly Now......

Well not really. We went to the opthamologist and found out that Lizzie's right eye isn't working as hard as it should. So she has to wear glasses to "hopefully" get it where it needs to be. She is doing really well so far, but this is only day one and the glasses are still a new and exciting. We have a system in place and I hope it will work long enough for a habit to form. The doctor gave her a cute glasses case that looks like a purse, we hung it on the wall so we won't misplace it. Every morning she will wake up and put her glasses on and we replace them with several gold "chocolate" coins. When she won't wear them we take a coin out. Whatever is left she gets to eat before bed and then places her glasses back in the case. Wish me luck :)

Look at Me Now!!

Cora is growing so fast. This is her new trick. She started pulling herself up about 2 weeks ago. We have just under 3 months till #4 is here. Do you think she will be walking? I'm hoping. But not counting on it.

The Big.....30

Last Week I left my twenties behind. Now it's time to grow up :) It was a nice day. I spent the morning bowling and eating pizza with Miss Lizz and her class at her end of the year activity. Then Todd took my family and I out to a nice restaruant out in Palm Dessert, where I had the best Ceasar salad (it was even above Greg's standards) They made it table side from scratch, which went perfectly with my fillet mignon. It was delicious. Thanks Steph and Parley for watching the kids. And you know the best thing about being 30, is that I won't forget how old I am, at least for a year.

Bowling and Pizza

For Lizzie's last school activity we went bowling at Empire Bowl and then had pizza next door at Shakey's. It was a lot of fun. It was her first time bowling and she did really well. My favorite part was the little happy dance she did after hitting 8 pins her first roll (don't you just love the bumpers) :)

Is this my ball?

So cute! She kept crossing the line and would slip and fall on her bum. This was the time her ball slowly made it down the lane and then got down to the end ,only to start rolling back toward us. Then it finally stopped and we had to have the attendant go get it for us. You gotta love kids bowling.

Liz and Jen's Special Day Out

Aunt Jen came and picked up Lizzie so they could have special afternoon together. She took Lizzie to the Build a Bear Workshop. She had a lot of fun. Let me introduce you to her new friend "Heart" she is dressed up as a fairy and plays a special birthday song when you squeeze her foot. She is very proud of her creation. Thanks Jen, what a fun memory you created with her. You are the coolest!

Happy Birthday Miss Lizz

We celebrated Lizzie's 5th Birthday last week. All the family came over to the Sparks home and enjoyed some yummy food. Lizzie wanted my "special" Mac n' Cheese and pumpkin Mickey waffles. But we also had some BBQ for the grown ups. It was a nice relaxing day and the weather turned out to be alright. Well at least it wasn't freezing. We would also like to give a special thank you for the gifts. Lizzie has had a lot of fun watching and playing with her gifts, and so has Trevor :)

The kids jumped on the bouncer that sadly had a slow leak but kids can still make it fun.

Uncle Greg called and Lizzie had a special little chat with him.

I don't think I've ever seen them play so well at the sand table.

This is really a pull string pinata, but where's the fun if you can't hit it first.

Lizzie picked this cake off the Family Fun website. I was all for it since it was really easy and super cute. It got really windy all of a sudden so we had to go inside to light and blow out the candles.

But the coolest part was Grandpa's Gift. Look at her go.

Teacher Appreciation

Our stake held a "Teacher Appreciation Night" on May 22nd. Lizzie's preschool teacher, Mrs. Morales was one of the few chosen. She is an amazing and intelligent woman with such great love for the children. I know Lizzie has benefited greatly from being in her class, as I too have. You know she is a great teacher when you have to line up at 4am to register and you are the 9th person in line.

Our First Pinewood Derby

We all had fun making these cars. Trevor and Lizzie chose what they wanted. Todd cut out the cars, and Gramme and I painted. They had a blast. They wouldn't go to bed with out them for a week.

Lizzie won an award for "Finest Lines"

Trevor won an award for "Best Paint Job"
